Tourism Investment Assessment for the Western Balkans -
Conducted a four country tourism investment assessment for the
Invest in the Western Balkans Program of the Foreign Investment
Advisory Service of the World Bank. Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Montenegro, Albania and Macedonia were the countries of focus.

Tourism Investment Analysis and Market Assessment for the
establishment of a new hotel brand in the Balkans, Caucasus and
Turkey.

Tourism Policy Diagnostic for Montenegro - Worked with
Business Enabling Environment Program of the World Bank to
identify and analyze key barriers to tourism investment and
development.

Montenegro Competitiveness Program - Created and
implemented workshops on internet travel trends and website
development for travel industry professionals in Montenegro.

Increasing the competitiveness of tourism in Albania -
Tourism has been an integral part of the USAID-sponsored
Enterprise Development and Export Market Services (EDEM)
project since March 2004.

Tourism Competitiveness Initiative for Bosnia-Herzegovina

Macedonia
Competitiveness Activity - SW Associates was
engaged by BoozAllenHamilton to expand media coverage of
Macedonian tourism in Europe.



Romania - Tourism Enterprise Development & Strengthening
Program -
Provided technical assistance to tourism industry
stakeholders to improve the quality and expand international tourism
to Romania.

Tourism Competitiveness Assessment for Crimea, Ukraine -
For the DAI BIZPRO project, a rapid assessment and strategic
planning session with tourism industry professionals in Crimea was
conducted.

Regional Competitiveness Initiative for the Balkans - SW
Associates assisted with the development of a multi-country tourism
development strategy.

Latin America
World Bank-funded Tourism Competitiveness strategy for
Nicaragua - Tourism Competitiveness Strategy and comparisons
with competitive destinations.

Conservation International, Center for Business Leadership
and the Environment, Strategy for working with the cruise
industry in the Caribbean -
Comprehensive analysis of
environmental practices and programs of cruise lines.

USAID program for tourism trade in services capacity building
in
Costa Rica - Short term assistance to small tourism firms in
Costa Rica in regards to the Central American Free Trade
Agreement.


Middle East
Development of hotel quality standards and classification
systems
for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Emirate of Abu
Dhabi
with Stanford Research International.

"While in Egypt Stay Connected" - In Cairo, assisted with the
development of a strategy to increase visitor use of internet services
in Egypt. The strategy included ideas for leveraging wi-fi internet
access on the Nile cruise boats.

Lebanon Mountain Trail -- Assisted a team in Beirut with the
creation and international market positioning of the 350 kms
Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT), which connects mountain
communities throughout the country. For more information, see

Izdihar Project, Iraq - Developed a tourism strategy for Iraq that
focused on immediate protection of the country's cultural heritage,
encouraging further hotel and infrastructure investment in the holy
cities of Najaf and Kerbala, and expanding hotel investment in the
Kurdish region.

Ras al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates - Extensive tourism
market feasibility analysis for the development of the International
Hospitality Trade and Training Zone (ihottz), which would be one of
the most extensive developments of its kind.
